Symposium is organized by:
l Bureau of International Cooperation, Chinese Academy of Sciences
l Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province
l Heilongjiang Bureau of Foreign Experts
l Water Sciences Section, UNESCO
Sponsored jointly by:
l Key laboratory of Mollisols Agroecology, CAS
l Farming and Cultivation Institute, Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences,
l Key Laboratory of Soybean Biology, Ministry of Education, China
l Heilongjiang Institute of Soil and Water Conservation
l Soil Fertilizer and Environmental Resources Institute, Heilongjiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences
l Resources and Environment College, Northeast Agricultural University
l Heilongjiang Land Reclamation University
l Key Laboratory of Mollisols Ecology of Heilongjiang Province
Scope
Four continuous large bodies of world Mollisols are extensively distributed on the steppes of North America, South America, Ukraine and China. Mollisols regions are main grain production bases of the world. The purpose of the symposium is to provide a friendly and collegial environment for scientists, researchers and graduate students, especially in the Mollisols region, to present their works, share their knowledge, experience and exchange information. The ISSQMWM covers all aspects of Mollisols quality and management practice including but not limited to the following:
(1) Soil erosion and environment: processes and influencing factors; on-site/off-site effect and modeling; sediment deposition; contamination
(2) Soil organic carbon dynamics and driving factor: carbon cycle in soils; losses and emission of SOC; components of SOC; SOC restoration and sequestration
(3) Soil fertility and management: N, P, K nutrient and transformation; micro nutrient deficiency; physical properties and water flow; enzymes and microbe biodiversity
(4) Mollisols sustainable management technology
Registration
Registration is free of charge for all participants. Expenses for room and board and Mollisol tour after symposium will be at participant’s own cost.

Symposium papers accepted and proceedings
Officially published symposium proceedings will be distributed during the meeting at registration center, including invited reports and abstracts that have been accepted. Approximately 20 selected papers from participants will be published in Canadian Journal of Soil Sciences as a special issue.
Presentation of paper
Papers can be presented as oral report and also by means of poster. Authors should confirm in the registry form, and specify the necessary display equipment. Each oral presentation is limited in 20 minutes, including 5 minutes of discussion. Each poster should be prepared in size 900×1100 mm.
Layout of paper or abstract
Word editor should be used for creating the text in non-formatted style. Tables, graphs, and other materials are submitted separately to the text. Each of the mentioned documents should be printed, commencing on a separate sheet of paper and its title and detailed description including the measurement units used should be indicated. Word editor should be used to create tables, in tables each item should be placed into a separate cell. Tables are numbered with Arabic numerals in the order in which they are referred to in the text. Graphs should be provided in Excel or Sigma Plot editor.
