ISSQMWM ’2010

International Symposium on Soil Quality and Management of World Mollisols2nd Announcement

Hosted by

Northeast Institute of Geography and Agroecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Northeast Forestry University

July 13th-16th, 2010

Harbin, PR China

1 Scope

Mollisols are extensive soils on the steppes of Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. They are similar in soil physical and chemical properties, but different in management practices from the region. The purpose of the symposium is to provide a friendly and collegial environment for Mollisols researchers, especially in the Mollisols region, to present their works and exchange information. The ISSQMWM covers all aspects of Mollisols quality and management practice including but not limited to the following:

(1) Soil erosion and environment: processes and influencing factors; on-site/off-site effect and modeling; sediment deposition; contamination

(2) Soil organic carbon dynamics and driving factor: carbon cycle in soils; losses and emission of SOC; components of SOC; SOC restoration and sequestration

(3) Soil fertility and management: N, P, K nutrient and transformation; micro nutrient deficiency; physical properties and water flow; enzymes and microbe biodiversity

(4) Mollisols sustainable management technology

Registration

Registration Fee is free for charge for all participants. Expenses for room and board and Mollisols field tour after symposium will be at participant’s own cost.
